Atrial Paced Rhythm

Description

This ECG is from a patient with a dual chamber pacemaker. There is atrial pacing with complete capture, appropriate tracking of atrial activity by the pacemaker and a native QRS complex following every atrial complex. The pacing rate is approximately 65/min. The interval between the atrial stimulus artifacts and the native QRS complexes is approximately 220 msec. The programmed A-V delay is therefore greater than 220 msec. This longer A-V delay allows the emergence of more native QRS complexes and less ventricular pacing.
