Surgical Resection of Ischemic Bowel

Description

A 73 yo male with a history of atrial fibrillation who was not on anticoagulation presented to emergency department with belly pain. Exam showed peritoneal signs and labs showed elevated lactic acid. He required vasopressors and surgery was consulted. the image shows necrotic bowel removed from his abdomen.
