Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm with intramural hematoma

Description

65-year-old Caucasian male with a history of extensive tobacco use, and hypertension was admitted to the critical care unit for the management of hemorrhagic shock. CT Abdomen/Pelvis with IV Contrast was obtained, which noted abnormal dilation of the abdominal aorta measuring up to 6.3cm x 5.1cm with intramural hematoma. Patient was stabilized with blood transfusions and vascular surgery was emergently consulted for Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm repair.
